Ramon E. Quinones age 80, passed away on Monday, April 26, 2021.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Antonia Quinones; daughters, Antonia (Mark) Koslow, Neida (Robert) Benton, Julie (Chris) Harper and Ana (Mark Sr.) Topp; sons, Pedro Quinones and David (Amy) Quinones; grandchildren, Joseph Koslow, Johnny Smith, Christopher (Veronica) Smith, Adriana Smith, Anthony Marker, Mark Topp Jr., Martin Topp, Brandon (Natasha) Quinones, Jacob Quinones and Aaron Quinones; great grandchildren, Levi Smith, Jacson Smith, Ashley Madison Kasingern and Calvin Quinones; sister, Magarita and brother, Filomeno; many nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
Preceded in death by his parents, Miguel and Julia Quinones, granddaughter, Ashley, sisters, Manuela and Rosa and brothers, Casildo, Emerito, Miguel Jr., and Javier.
Ramon was born October 2, 1940 in Penuelas, Puerto Rico to the late Miguel and Julia Quinones. On April 4, 1959 , he married the love of his life Antonia and together they raised six children. Ramon retired from Inland Steel with 35 years of service. He enjoyed playing dominos and crossword puzzles. He also enjoyed making rosaries for family and friends. Ramon was a master mechanic and could fix/make anything. Ramon was the kind of person who would help anyone with whatever they needed.
Ramon was a loving son, brother, husband, father, and grandfather and will truly be missed by all whose lives he touched.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, May 3, 2021 at 10:30 AM at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church (3025 Highway Avenue Highland, IN) with Rev. Theodore J. Mens officiating. Procession to the church will begin with prayers at Kuiper Funeral Home at 9:45 AM.
Interment to follow at Saint John/Saint Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Hammond, IN.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, May 2, 2021 from 1:00-6:00 PM at Kuiper Funeral Home, 9039 Kleinman Road Highland, IN.
Due to the current conditions of Covid-19, masks are required for attendance at the funeral home, church and cemetery.
