Mary S. Stinnett

Mary Sue Stinnett (nee Chastain) was welcomed into the Kingdom of Heaven on August 14, 2016; born and raised in Vonore, TN, Sue moved to Indiana with her husband in the 1950’s. She was a devoted pastor’s wife who faithfully served the Lord and loved reading her Bible, singing hymns and sharing the Love of God. Sue was a cherished mother and grandmother and a beautiful example of love and kindness. She used her gifts of care and compassion working for many years as a nurse’s aide at Munster Community Hospital until her retirement in 1992. Throughout her life, Sue maintained a sweet and simple demeanor and won the hearts of everyone she met. Sue leaves precious memories to be cherished by her children; Steve (Brenda) Stinnett of Knoxville, TN, Tony (Vickie) Stinnett of Owensboro, KY, Mike (Becki) Stinnett of Highland, IN, Pam(Klain) West of Lowell, IN, Tim (Tina) Stinnett of Munster, IN, grandchildren: Hope Lacey, Amy Mosoriak, Jill and David Bartlett, Jennifer Wishy, Will Stinnett, Misty Tindall, Natasha Davidson, Sarah Rodriguez, Mike and Suzanne Stinnett, Kristen Jones, Jerry and Phillip Patrick, Jonathan Stinnett, 23 great-grandchildren, and one to arrive in February 2017, one sister Nell Teffeteller, many adored nieces, and nephews. Sue was preceded in death by her loving husband of 59 years Rev. Paul Stinnett, daughter Peggy Cameon, granddaughter Elizabeth Delaney, her parents Caleb and Rose Chastain, siblings Joe, Claude, Blake, and Mertice. Funeral service will be held Saturday August 20, 2016, 10 AM at Bible Baptist Church (8720 Orchard Dr.) Highland, IN. Pastor Don Good officiating. Burial Elmwood Cemetery Hammond, Indiana. Friends may visit with the family on Friday August 19, 2016 from 4 to 8 pm at Kuiper Funeral Home 9039 Kleinman Rd (two blocks south of Ridge RD) Highland, IN. In lieu of flowers memorial donation can be made to Hospice of The Calumet Area or St. Jude Children’s Hospital, which she faithfully supported.
