Martha Burns

She is survived by her loving son Paul (Carol) Burns, and her dear grandchildren Michael, Helen and Benjamin Burns, all of Chardon, OH. Also survived by her sister Deanna Fry in Camby, IN and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents Arideo and Isola Ciardetti, dear husband Paul R. Burns, sisters Amelita Ciardetti, Vilma Juranovich, Joanne Kitcho, and Fedora Coduti.

Martha was a graduate of Bishop Noll High School, Hammond, IN, Class of 1950. She was employed at Graver Tank & Co. Inc. East Chicago, IN where she met her loving husband, Paul, and Standard Oil Company, Whiting, IN

Martha was an avid Chicago sports fan, especially the Cubs, and she liked to read and play cards. She also met bi-monthly with High School classmates.

The family wishes to thank Nona Vanzo for her loving care and support over the last several years as well as Tabby Murphy over the last few years.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Autism Society of America or to Share Foundation in Rolling Prairie, IN.

Martha will be dearly missed by her family and friends.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, December 30, 2023 from 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM at Kuiper Funeral Home, 9039 Kleinman Road, Highland, IN 46322. Funeral service to take place at 12:00 PM, interment at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens to follow.
