Joan Ellen Clark

Joan Ellen Clark (nee Gibbs), age 77 of Crown Point, passed away Thursday, January 20, 2011. She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Noble Lee Clark; four children: Peggy (Jeff) Payonk of Hammond, Robin Vrachan of San Pedro, CA, Sharon (Dennis) Gumbert of Crown Point and Noble (Sherri) Clark of Griffith; grandchildren: Geoffery (Jennifer) Payonk, Jill (Brian) Sherwood, Penny (Chris) Ciccone, Aaron (Amanda) Vrachan, Charles (Ruth) Hoover, Christopher (Ericka Swanson) Hoover, Brittany and Breanne Clark; 13 great grandchildren; sister-in-law, Ellen Johnson; brother, Charles Alan (Monica) Gibbs; sister, Susan (Jay) Goetz; and numerous nieces and nephews. Mrs. Clark was preceded in death by parents: William and Peg Gibbs. Mrs. Clark was a a graduate of Hammond High School. She retired from Inland Steel and worked as a consultant in Plano, TX for 12 years. Mrs. Clark was a longtime member of the Emblem Club of the Hammond Elks and the Plano Elks, and was also a member of the Plano Elks Does. She was a member of the Eastern Stars and the member of the First United Methodist Church of Crown Point. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions, may be made in Joan's loving memory to a Hospice of your choice. Funeral service will be held 12:00 (Noon), Tuesday, January 25, 2011 at Kuiper Funeral Home with Reverend Tom Shanahan, officiating. Cremation will follow service. Friends are invited to meet with the family on Monday from 4:00- 8:00 p.m. at Kuiper Funeral Home, 9039 Kleinman Rd. (two blocks South of Ridge Rd.), Highland.
