Herbert F. Welk

Herbert Frank Welk, age 91, of Griffith, IN, passed away on Friday, May 3, 2024. Herb served in the US Navy from 1952 to 1960. He was married to Maggie Ruth (Gootee) Welk for 63 years. He retired from Lever Brothers after many years of employment. Herb enjoyed bowling and fishing and tinkering with just about everything.

Herb was preceded in death by wife Maggie, sisters Elaine and Virginia, father Herbert, and mother Mary. Herb is survived by sons Greg (Daphne) and Gary (Tammy) Welk, grandchildren Tim (Jessica) Scripter, Joshua (Amy) Scripter, Samantha (Brandon) Garcia, Brody, and Braylin Welk, great grandchildren Madison, Peyton, Mason, and Gavyn Scripter, and Joy Garcia, and many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 8, 2024 from 4:00-8:00 p.m. at Kuiper Funeral Home and funeral services on Thursday at 11:00 am at Kuiper Funeral Home.
