Donald Mueller passed away peacefully on Nov. 2nd, 2022. He was born on Sept. 13th, 1937, to Marge Rockwell and Edward R. Miller of Chicago. He joined the Army on May 15th, 1958, where he earned his Expert Rifle and Parachutist Badge, and he was a Paratrooper in the 101st airborne. He was most proud of this. When he moved to Indiana, he worked for the Hammond City Sanitation Dept and retired in 2001. He was preceded in death by his Mother, Father, Wife(s), Janey of 15 years and Jacqueline, of 34 years. He has 2 biological daughters, 2 step daughters and 1 stepson, 7 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. His only brother resides in Florida.
Donald Lived each day with the anticipation of what’s next. He met no strangers, and made each person he knew feel special. He was everyone’s friend within minutes and remained a great friend for life. He loved storytelling, gun shows, old movies, reading history, writing letters, studying the Bible and all animals. He took in many strays over the years. He was a Man’s Man with a simplistic view of life. He was kind. He was different. He was good. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
No memorial is planned at this time. You may donate to an Animal Shelter in his honor. He would have liked this…
