William Thomas Smith Jr.

William " Billy" Thomas Smith Jr., age 76, of North Carolina went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, November 6, 2024.

Billy was born November 3, 1948 in Saint Pauls, North Carolina; a son of the late William Thomas Smith and Nellie Ruby Davis Moore. Billy worked as a machine operator in the furniture industry for over 40 years. He loved to play and watch sports and old movies. Billy enjoyed the ocean and animals. His beloved dog, Charlie, and two cats, Cleo and Cosmo. Billy was a loving son, husband, father, brother, uncle, and friend to those who knew him. He enjoyed spending time with his family, going to the beach and to the mountains. Preceded in Billy's death was his grandparents Joseph Wheeler Davis and Nezzie Wilma Treadaway, a brother; Joseph Wheeler Smith, a sister; Margaret Rebecca Byrd, a grandson; Cain Adonis Adams, father-in-law, Bobby Joe Collier and brother-in-law; Robbie Collier.

Surviving are his loving wife of 24 years, Sandy Smith, a daughter; Brandy Sabrina Rhoney, four sisters, Ann Jones, Mary Collins, Linda Jernigan (Gerold), and Debbie Myers, one granddaughter, Marilyn Adams, all of North Carolina, a mother-in-law, Linda Collier and a brother-in-law, Mark (Angela) Collier of West Virginia, severals nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Per Billy's wishes, there will be no service. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Donations can be directed to the American Dialysis Association in Billy's name.
