In the early 1950’s, Bill and B.K. Harrison formed a home building partnership, Harrison and Dawkins Homebuilders. They built quality homes throughout the High Point area. After retirement Bill built beautiful pieces of furniture which he gifted to family members. He enjoyed carving animals, making hand-crafted walking sticks, hunting, fishing, searching for arrowheads, collecting handsaws and feeding the birds. He also served as a volunteer firefighter with the Oak View Fire Department and was a member of the Oak View Lions Club.
Bill will be remembered as a creative master carpenter who believed in quality first and foremost. He was also a man of his word – trustworthy, loyal, genuine, kind and wise. He will be missed by his family and friends.
The family would like to thank the caregivers from Griswold Home Care and Hospice of the Piedmont who helped make his final days more peaceful.
A memorial service will be held at a later date. Memorial donations may be sent to Hospice of the Piedmont, 1801 Westchester Drive, High Point, NC 27262.
