Walter Jacob “ Dickie” Wright, Jr., 78, passed away September 25, 2014. Dickie was born in High Point, September 5, 1936, a son of the late Walter Jacob Wright Sr. and Florence Archer Wright. He attended the Devereux School in Pennsylvania and when he returned to High Point in 1961, he enrolled in the Sheltered Workshop. Dickie participated in the Special Olympics and was a lifetime member of Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church. Surviving are two sisters, Mary Phyllis Wright and Lorraine Flynn and husband Patrick; a great- niece, Katie Rucker Moser and two nephews, William Keith Moser and Nathan Randall Moser. Graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, September 30, at Guilford Memorial Park Mausoleum by the Rev. Dr. Timothy L. Porter. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Special Olympics. Davis Funerals and Cremations is assisting the family.
