Ruth Marie Greene

Mrs. Greene was born May 9, 1923 in High Point to John Thomas and Lula Patterson Jones. She retired from Gilbarco Inc. in Greensboro in 1990 and was a member of First Wesleyan Church and the Mary Carson Bible Class of the Sunday School. Mrs. Greene enjoyed her time spent doing crafts and was considered by many to be the “Best Friend” they could ever have. She was preceded in death by her husband Elmore C. Greene in 1985 and also by her sisters, Ailene Jones Stutts and Lena Jones Howard and her brother, William “Bunk” Jones, and her nephew Charles T. Howard.

Mrs. Greene lived the last years of her life with her lifelong friend, Linnie Murray Rush and husband Jim. Her niece Pat Howard has always been close by and lending a helping hand in any way possible.

Mrs. Greene is survived by her sister ; Myrtle Jones Snider of Climax. She has a great niece, Rojeana Howard McDonald of Thomasville and two nephews; Clifford Jones of Florida and Alex Snider of Climax.

Funeral services for Mrs. Greene will be conducted Tuesday at 2:30 p.m. in the Chapel of Sechrest Funeral Service on E. Lexington Avenue by the Reverend David Keith. Interment will follow in Floral Garden Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends prior to the service at the funeral home from 1:00 p.m. until 2:30 p.m. Memorials may be directed to the Alzheimer’s Association, 3420 Shamrock Drive, Charlotte, NC 28215.
