

A resident of this area all of his life, Mr. Whitesell was born on August 18, 1939 in High Point to the late Robert Banks Whitesell and Ruth Elizabeth Stone Whitesell. He was a member of Jamestown Presbyterian Church and the loving husband of Joyce Hunsucker Whitesell. Mr. Whitesell worked as a truck driver, having worked for FlyBack, Hennis Motor Lines, Spector- Redball, Carolina Freight, and later retiring from ABF Trucking. He was also the sole owner of RBW Developments, LLC. In addition to his parents, Mr. Whitesell is preceded in death by one brother, Edward Harvey Whitesell.
Surviving is his wife, Joyce H. Whitesell of the home; step-children, Judy Dumars of Inman, SC, Michael Thompson of Thomasville, Mickey Thompson of Jamestown, Chris Thompson of Kernersville, Keith Thompson of Spartanburg, SC, and Kimberly Carter and her husband Russ of Spartanburg, SC; seven grandchildren, Amy Nicole Speaks, Ryan J. Dumars, Natalie J. Kelley, Timothy K. Thompson, Lane C. Morgan, Melissa F. Thompson, and Margeaux Dumars; and six great grandchildren.
Funeral service will be held at 2pm Wednesday, October 16th at Jamestown Presbyterian Church with Rev. Dr. Jay D. Smith and Newton Cowan of Jamestown Presbyterian Church officiating. Interment will follow in Floral Garden Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
