Roger was born in Tabor City, December 10, 1945. He retired from Piedmont Chemical after 35 years of service. Roger was an avid sports enthusiast and loved spending time with his family. He was preceded in death by his mother, Edith Floyd
Surviving are his wife of 49 years, Patsy Lones J Roger L. Jernigan, 69, passed away Saturday, June 13, 2015 at the Hospice ernigan of the home; four daughters, Nora Jernigan of High Point, Joan Hartigan and husband John of Flower Mound, TX, Stephanie Shoaf and husband Tom of Supply, and Tracy Griggs and husband Grant of High Point; three sisters, Linda Sikes, Misty Verouden, and Karen Allred; two brothers, Mike Floyd and wife Diane and Dale Floyd; 7 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.
A Celebration of Roger’s Life will be held Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. in the Davis Funerals and Cremations Chapel. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday from 6 until 7:30 p.m. Memorials may be directed to Hospice of the Piedmont or the Hayworth Cancer Center.
