Robert Lee Ward

Robert Lee Ward, age 67, passed away on Saturday, December 23, 2023 following a brief illness.

Robert was born in Nakina, NC, October 6, 1956, a son of the late Van and Ressie Jacobs Ward. He graduated from Nakina High School in 1974. Robert had several occupations and in 2011 received his Airframe and Powerplant certification from the Aviation Institute of Maintenance in Chesapeake, VA. He worked for Haeco Americus in Greensboro. Robert loved the outdoors, hiking, camping and kayaking. He enjoyed music, dancing, martial arts, exercising and travelling. Robert was an excellent craftsman, making canes and walking sticks. He was preceded in death by his sister, Louise Ward Simmons; eight brothers, Clyde Jacobs, Leo Ward, Allen Ward, Raymond Ward, Kenny Ward, Charles Ward, Red Ward and Leonard Ward.

Surviving are his wife, Diana Ward; two brothers, Barry Ward and Larry Ward; a goddaughter, Heather Prevatte Robertson and her children, Wyatt, Ella and Lincoln; a step-daughter, Terri Smart and her daughter, Delaney Smart.

At Robert's request, no services will be held.
