Mr. Cain was born in Pittsburg, PA, on March 28, 1927, to Leverette Leland and Alice Woodbury Brown. He had been a resident of High Point since 1931 and graduated from High Point High School in 1945 and attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill for three years. From June 1945 until October 1946 he proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II. Mr. Cain was a self-employed insurance sales representative in High Point. He was a member of Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church and the Sunday School Class known as the Peacock Bible Class.
Surviving are his wife, Margaret Jones Cain of Westchester Manor in High Point and his children; Mary Cain-Murphy and her husband John of Raleigh and Linda Robbian and her husband Mike of High Point. Mr. Cain has five grandchildren: Alice Brochu, Kristin Murphy, Hunter Murphy, Eric Robbian, and Emily Robbian.
A Memorial Service will be conducted Monday, November 5th at 2:00 pm in the Chapel of Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church with Dr. J. Alexander (Al) Ward, Jr. officiating. Inurnment in the church columbarium will be private. Following the service, the family will receive guests in the Asbury Room of the church.
