Richard "Kenny" McKinney Phillips

Richard was born in Todd, NC, January 25, 1947, a son of the late William Hiram Phillips and Stella Virginia Phillips. He was a carpenter in the construction industry his entire working career. Richard was an accomplished guitarist, enjoyed gardening and fixing things. He was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Phillips; a sister, Charlotte Lambeth and five brothers, Hansel, Leamon, James, Ward and Raymond Phillips.

Surviving are two sons, Richard M. Phillips, Jr. and Jeff Phillips; two sisters, Virginia Garner and Carolyn Reid; two brothers, Jerry Phillips and Larry Phillips; grandson, Dylan Phillips.

A Celebration of Richard’s life will be held Tuesday, May 17, 2022 in the Sechrest-Davis Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Danny West at 2pm. The family will receive friends from 12:30pm-2pm.Burial will follow in Guilford Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorials may be directed St Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
