Ransey was born in High Point, a son of the late Obert and Betty Whitt Neighbors. He was a Navy veteran and a former member of the Elks Club. Ransey was a founding member of the High Point Citizens Police Academy and a member of the High Point Police Reserves. He loved the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing. Ransey loved people and touched many lives. He was an active member of Oakview Baptist Church.
Surviving are his wife, Janet Neighbors; a daughter, April Campbell; granddaughter, Emma; a sister, Linda Sharp and husband Tom.
A Celebration of Ransey’s Life will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. in Oakview Baptist Church by Rev. Steve Smith. The family will receive friends at the church Saturday from 10 a.m. until the service.
