Mr. Brown was born in High Point on November 1st, 1930; the youngest child of Ruth Baker and Glenn Albert Brown. In December of 1964; sister Evelyn B. Williamson along with her husband S. Gray Williamson and their younger son, Ralph Christopher Williamson, were tragically killed in an automobile accident.
Ralph attended High Point City Schools and in 1954 graduated from North Carolina State University with a BS in Construction, which would lead to his eventual becoming of president of E.E. Younts, Inc. While at NC State he was a member of the Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity and played tennis. Ralph served in the United States Army Corps of Engineers from 1954 thru 1956.
Ralph was active in many civic activities; he was on the Nido Qubein Scholarship Foundation board; active in the High Point Sertoma Club; Little League of High Point and the Camp Keyauwee Advisory board; Ralph also belonged to the String and Splinter club.
He married Betty Dixon Bowman in 1952 and had three children; Heather FEB Renegar and husband, Tim of Winston-Salem; Ralph “Shawn” Milas Brown, II and wife, Tammy of Greeneville, TN; and his predeceased daughter Rosalee Evelyn Martin.
Later Ralph was married to Sue Oakley and was step father to Amy K. Poole and husband, Miles of Oak Ridge, NC.
Ralph was also married to Mary Poe of Thomasville, NC and preceded him in passing.
Surviving Ralph are his children and step child; grandchildren Timothy Blake Renegar, Brice Dixon Renegar and wife, Rebekah all of Winston-Salem, NC, Jason Milas Brown of Thomasville, Stephen Michael Brown of High Point and Adam McKinley Brown and wife, Deanna of Martinsville, VA, Lelia B Laws of Thomasville, NC.
Ralph is also survived by special nephew Glenn Gray Williamson and wife, Cathy of High Point.
Memorials can be made in Ralph’s name to the Heidelberg United Church of Christ, 118 Salem Street, Thomasville, NC 27360.
A private service is to be held for Ralph.
The family will receive friends at the home of his daughter, Heather Renegar, 3801 Guinevere Lane, Winston-Salem, NC 27104.
