Peggy Tice Ratliff, 82, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on December 8, 2023 in High Point, North Carolina. She was born to Roy Bennet Tice and Minnie Lee Tice in Anson County on March 12, 1941.
She married Gayland Ratliff, Sr, her high school sweetheart, on May 21, 1958. They were married 60 years before his passing on January 27, 2019. She attended Lilesville High School, where she was a cheerleader.
Peggy was a longtime member of Westchester Baptist Church in High Point, North Carolina. She loved her church family and served in many roles in her church. Peggy was known as a Christian woman who was a kind and gentle prayer warrior with a servant’s heart. She enjoyed reading her bible, cooking, spending time with family and friends and playing cards. She loved her family dearly. She was a wonderful wife, mother, sister, daughter, grandmother, great grandmother and friend.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Gayland Ratliff, Sr. her parents Roy Tice and Minnie Lee Tice. She is survived by her daughters, Terri Ratliff of Wake Forest, Sherry Pearson of High Point and her son, David Ratliff, Jr. and his wife Nancy Jo Ratliff of King William, Va. Her Granddaughter, Hannah Longest and her husband, Dylan Longest and Great Granddaughters, Grey Monroe Longest and Wren Joelle Longest of King William, Va. Her grandson, Ben Ratliff and his wife McKenzie Ratliff of King William, Va.
A Celebration of Peggy's life will be held at Westchester Baptist Church in High Point on Wednesday, December 13 at 2pm. Visitation will be one hour prior to service. Burial will be at Guilford Memorial Park Cemetery.
