She attended High Point High School. She then married Sherman Pope and worked at Foley’s Inc. for42 years. She enjoyed her ministry of volunteering for Meals on Wheels. She was a member of Poplar Ridge Friends Meeting and loved her Faithful Friends Sunday School class.
Pat liked to be out and about with people. She enjoyed going out and visiting and eating with her friends and she loved going to watch any sporting even from softball, volleyball, basketball, soccer and track; she was thrilled to just watch and cheer. She was a faithful fan of her granddaughter, Chelsea. She loved watching her compete and evening going to her practices. But most of all, Pat will be remembered for her steadfast faith in Jesus and a special type of perseverance and an inner strength and beauty.
Patsy is survived by her daughter Cindy Davis (Jay); granddaughter Chelsea; one brother Gwyn Chapel; her sister in law Janice Beck; and niece Amy Beck (Richard Nance); and by many nieces and nephews.
Patsy was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Sherman Pope; brothers Sonny Chapel, Leo Chapel, Hubert Chapel; sister Alice Loflin and brother in law Ernest Beck.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in Patsy’s name to The Rady Lady Foundation Inc., 1484 Allen Ct, Asheboro, NC 27205.
A celebration of life for Patsy will be held on Saturday, October 27th at Sechrest Funearl Service, 1301 E Lexington Ave, High Point. Visitation will be at 1pm and the service at 2pm with her son in law, Jay Davis officiating.
