He was born December 31, 1925 in Guilford County, a son of the late Sidney S. Robertson and Blanche Holton Robertson. As a young man Lyman entered and proudly served in the United States Navy during World War II. Back in 2010, Lyman was ecstatic to visit the World War II Memorial on the Flight of Honor. He was a charter member of the Jamestown Volunteer Fire Department, where he volunteered for over thirty-seven years.
Preceding Lyman in death are his parents, wife Geraldine “Jerri” Robertson, one brother and seven sisters.
Left to cherish his memory are his son, Lyman Edgar Robertson Jr., and wife Linda of Thomasville; daughter, Vicky Martin and husband Roger of Trinity; grandsons, Wayne Robertson, Adam Robertson and wife Amanda and York Martin and wife Kelsey; great-grandchildren, Mason, Harrison and Owen and a very special friend, Doris Cruthis.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, November 22, 2017, at West Fairfield Baptist Church in High Point, by Pastor Mark Moseley and Pastor Dan Bausum. Interment at Guilford Memorial Park will follow the service. The family will receive friends at Sechrest Funeral Service of High Point from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Tuesday, November 21, 2017.
