Linda was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She married Robert Crawford Hightower of Denmark, SC on August 5th, 1966, and had two wonderful children, Jennifer Lee and Jon David.
Linda was a championship golfer, winning the Colonial Country Club Championship, and was a multiple champion of the Oak Hollow Ladies Association Championship. She also was invited and played in the NC State Amateur twice.
She was also an accomplished artist. While studying under Abbey Rose Cox, she painted landscapes and portraits.
In her professional life she had been a licensed Realtor, an Assistant Librarian at GTCC, an X-Ray assistant, and a homemaker.
Survivors include her husband of 44 years, Robert; daughter, Jennifer Lee Alexander and her husband John Fredrick of Raleigh; son, Jon David Hightower and his wife Ginger Plyler of Charlotte; and five grandchildren; Braden, Garret, Laura Katherine, J.C. , and Jack.
Other family included Mrs. Anne Williamson of Denmark, SC; Mr. and Mrs. Merrell Still of Barnwell, SC; Mr. and Mrs. Merchon Dice of Clearwater, SC; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Family will receive friends on Monday, February 21, from 6:00-8:00pm at Sechrest Funeral Service in High Point, NC.
Visitation will also be held in the fellowship hall of the Denmark First Baptist Church in Denmark SC beginning at 2:00pm Wednesday, February 23.The funeral service will be held at 3:00pm with Rev’s Andy Hunter and Billy Mew officiating. Burial to follow in Denmark City Cemetery. Pall Bearers will be her nephews; Chip and Stevie Still, Bruce and Keith Williamson, and Gene and Jerry Hightower.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in honor of Linda to the Hospice of High Point.
