LaShaun Simone Elliott, affectionately known as "Shaunie", graced this world with her presence on Monday, May 24, 1976 at 7:22 a.m. She was born at State University Hospital, Brooklyn, NY, to Inez L. Elliott (deceased) and Burnett R. Elliott (deceased).
Shaunie attended Immaculate Conception Catholic Academy, Queens, NY, graduated and went to Hillcrest High School, also in Queens. LaShaun was very intelligent in all her studies and did very well pursuing her interest in nursing. She did take some college classes and realized that college was not for everyone. So, Shaunie began to search her interest in the workforce, ending up at Verizon on January 27, 1997 and she remained there until March 19, 2022. Due to illness, Shaunie had to go on medical leave.
LaShaun believed in the Lord Jesus Christ and had her Christian training at Evangelical Christian Church, Rev. Dr. Ernestine Sanders, Sr. Pastor (deceased), Jamaica, NY. She remained there until the opening of the family ministry of Thee Anointed Church of the Living God, Pastor Inez Elliott (deceased).
LaShaun Elliott never married nor had she the pleasure of her own child by choice. But, she mothered her nieces and nephews as their godmother. They loved and adored her very much.
Known for her infectious laugh and ability to light up a room, Shaunie will be missed greatly. She leaves to mourn her: two sisters, Stephanie Roberts, Jamaica, NY, Renay Elliott, Hickory, NC and a brother, Robert Elliott, Bronz, NY; a niece, Toni Roberts, three nephews, Torrie Roberts, Taylor Roberts and Jaylon Craig; two great-nieces, Isabella Bowen, 12, Kimora Roberts, 3, and a great-nephew, Leoh Roberts, 6; brother in law, Marlon Roberts and niece in law, Nicolette Bowen.
The extension of the family continues from her father's side with huge host of uncles, Nelson Elliott (deceased), Thalese Elliott, Robert (Bobby) Elliott and Harold Elliott. Aunties, Shirley Murray (deceased), Patricia Neal-King, Lillian Inman, Beverly Golson (deceased) and from two other marriages there are brother, sisters and so many cousins they can't count.
After a long and tremendous battle with illness, and the assistance of her companion and friend, Michael Thomas, LaShaun Simone Elliott was called by the Lord to leave this earth on Monday, February 17, 2025. LaShaun leaves us with loving and lasting memories we will cherish forever.
Lovingly submitted by the Family
