Joseph Sylva Brigman

Joe was born August 14, 1954 in Allentown, Pennsylvania, a son of the late Dr. Paul H. Brigman and Lois S. Brigman. He grew up in High Point, attended High Point Central High School, and later received his undergraduate and MBA degrees from UNC Chapel Hill. Joe was a dedicated employee of Cedarlane in Burlington.

He was an avid Carolina fan and Rams Club supporter. Joe had a huge caring heart and was always willing to help others. For years, Joe assisted with the care of his elderly parents and an aunt. Through that close relationship with his mother, he became a gardener specializing in orchids and a great cook. He was a loyal friend and developed a second family in a circle of friends that started in childhood and continued to grow through the years. Many thanks to Jeff, Don, John, Chuck, Bill, Hana, Donna, Jennifer and Tina and others for including Joe in their lives.

Joe is survived by his brother, Paul H. Brigman Jr.; sister, Melissa B. Seats (Lissa); brother-in-law, Phil Seats; nephews, Brack Brigman (wife Emilee) and John Seats; nieces Whitney Heard (husband Bill), Abby Seats and Liz Seats; great nephews, Hamer Brigman, Wills Heard and Bo Brigman; a great niece, Lucy Larkin Heard; cousins; and two aunts.

A Celebration of Joe’s Life will be held Tuesday, February 10, 2015 at 2 p.m. in the Sechrest Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends following the service until 3:30 p.m. Memorials may be directed to the American Heart Association or of the UNC Kenan Flager Business School.
