John Edward Sikes

John was retired from AT&T where he worked for over 30 years. After retirement, he worked as a Club Professional at the Colonial Charters Golf Course in North Myrtle Beach. He loved to give golf lessons and make custom golf clubs for his friends and clients. He was known to his friends and family as the “Golf Whisperer.” He was a member of Laurel Oaks Christian Church of High Point. The joy and pride of his life were his children and grandchildren.

John is survived by his son John Barry Sikes and wife Sally; daughter Sandra “Sandy” Sikes; brother William “Bill” Sikes; as well as 2 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Fishes and Loaves Ministry at Laurel Oaks Christian Church, 1001 Old Plank Road, High Point, NC 27265.

A funeral service for John will be held on Wednesday, December 27th, 2017 at 2pm at Laurel Oaks Christian Church, Pastor Allen Brown officiating. Visitation will occur one hour prior to services. Burial will follow services at Guilford Memorial Park Cemetery.
