John "Pete" Thomas Jones

Pete was born June 24, 1945 in Davie County, a son of the late Tom and Velma Taylor. He was an Army veteran, serving as a sergeant in the 37th Artillery. This was followed by a lengthy career in the furniture industry with Dimension & Plywood and Henredon. Pete attained his degree in industrial maintenance at Davidson County Community College. He was preceded in death by his wife of 48 years, Joyce Passmore Jones and three brothers.

Surviving are two daughters, Tish Jones and Angela Jones; two granddaughters, Ashley Jones and Sara Khan; a sister, Virginia "Sally" Reavis and a brother, William Jones as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Pete's life will be held Wednesday at 7 p.m. in the Davis Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Milton Grady.
