Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Thursday, March 29, 2018 at First Baptist Church, of which he was a member, with Reverend Ted York and Reverend Scotty Carpenter officiating. Interment will follow at Oaklawn Cemetery.
Mr. Nance was born August 16, 1936 in Burlington to the late Lewis Talmadge Nance and the late Ollie Elizabeth Hamer Nance. He retired from GE/Black & Decker with over 30 years of service and was a member of the Classic Corvair Club of the Triad. He was a loving husband and amazing dad and grandfather.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 61 years, Lillie Frances Stinson Nance; two brothers, William Nance and Lewis Nance; and one sister, Mary Rush.
Mr. Nance is survived by his three children; Richard Nance and wife Cindy of Reston, VA; John T. Nance and wife Donna of Asheboro, NC; Carol Nance Lewallen and husband Robert C. Lewallen, Jr. of Winterville, NC; four grandchildren Scott Nance of Arlington, VA; Isley Lewallen of Winterville, NC, Patrick Nance of Reston, VA and Jacob Nance of Asheboro; several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 12:30 PM until 2:00 PM on Thursday, March 29, 2018 at the church prior to the service.
