Jack was born March 21, 1933 in Jersey City, N.J. to John Christopher McCloskey and Florence Garrett McCloskey. He was a graduate of St. Peters University in New Jersey. He served for 34 years as the Financial Operator for AT&T, having retired in 1985. Jack served his country in the U. S. Army and worked on the Apollo Moon Projects. He was a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church where he served as Religious Education Teacher for several years. Jack was a faithful "Greeter" at the 9:30 a.m. Mass on Sunday. He was a 4th Degree Knight of Columbus and a Past Grand Knight. He was preceded in death by his sister, Florence Locandro.
On August 31, 1957 he married the love of his life, Rosalie Joan Tracy McCloskey, who survives of the home. Also surviving are his daughters Nina Risi of Greensboro and Florence Mullin and husband John of New Town Square, Pa., and a son, John C. McCloskey of Greensboro. He has two grandsons; Joseph A. Risi and Steven G. Risi and one sister; Natalie McCloskey of New Jersey.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday at 11:00 am in Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church with the Reverend Fr. Vincent E. Smith, O.S.F.S. Celebrant. The family will receive friends in the Gathering Space of the Church Wednesday from 10:00 until 11:00 a.m.
