She was a lifelong member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church and an active participate of Young at Heart. Her family was part of the original founding members of the First Catholic Church in High Point. Her pound cake and potato salad was legendary and always a popular request at family gatherings. Her abundant love and devotion to family, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren was a life she lived with never ending passion. She was and shall and forever will be a compassionate, beautiful, loving Mother and Sister whose light shall always shine bright. Her boundless inner strength was inspiring to all who knew her and her big smile, loving arms and warm hugs will always be felt. She had a heart as big as the sky and the light of God to always guide her all the way and far beyond her final journey.
Joan is survived by her son, Michael Moore; daughters Sandra Skeen (Chip), Amy McHugh (Steve), Susan Wood (Stephen), Cathy Wilson (Chris), and Julie Bryan (Jeff); sisters Mildred Richardson and Mary Etta Adams; as well as 9 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.
Joan is preceded in death by her parents; brother David Jarrell; and her husband Keith R. Moore.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Joan’s name to Hospice Home of the Piedmont.
A funeral mass will be held for Joan on Friday, August 4th, 2017 at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church of High Point at 11am, Rev. Thomas P. Norris, OSFS officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church. Burial will take place at Guilford Memorial Park at 2pm the same day.
