James Ralph Hedrick

A resident of this area all of his life, Ralph was born on September 1, 1918 in Guilford County, NC to the late James Franklin and Minnie Barker Hedrick. He was a lifetime member of Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church in Thomasville, where he was currently the oldest living member. He was a veteran of World War II, having served in the United States Army and had worked in construction for many years. Ralph especially enjoyed spending time with his family and grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Ralph was preceded in death by a son, Aaron Sidney Hedrick.

Surviving are his wife of over 68 years, Alene Hedrick of the home; children, Steve Hedrick of Nashville, TN, Mark Hedrick and his wife Claudia of Thomasville, David Ralph Hedrick of Southport, and Tim Hedrick and his wife Pam of Winston-Salem; sister, Faye McDowell of Thomasville; grandchildren, Matthew, Amanda, Nick, Sophia, Amy, Mark Jr., Kim, Jennifer, and Leigha; and thirteen great grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.

A graveside service with Military Honors by the Randolph County Honor Guard will be held at 2 pm Thursday, October 29th at Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church Cemetery with Pastor Anne Elmore officiating. The family will greet friends immediately following the graveside service.
