James "Gordon" Combs, age 76, of Thomasville, NC, passed away on Thursday, April 20, 2023, at his home. He was born May 25, 1946, in High Point, NC, the son of the late Thomas Lee Combs and Lelia Hornaday Combs.
Gordon worked for the City of High Point as a lineman. He was a devoted member of Promise Baptist Church of Thomasville, where he started AA group.
Surviving are his wife, Judy Thomas Combs; daughters, Wendy Martin (Ricky), Wendi Singleton (Carson); sons, James Combs Jr., Joshua Levi-Thomas Combs; grandchildren, Staci Mustard, Amanda Myers, Hunter Singleton; and sister, Betty Stedman (Bill).
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, April 25, 2023, at Promise Baptist Church, 11 Maiden Park Dr., Thomasville, NC. Burial will follow at Floral Garden in High Point.
The family will receive friends Sunday, April 23, 2023, at Sechrest-Davis Funerals & Cremations, 976 Phillips Ave., High Point, NC, from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM.
