Helen C Brown

Mrs. Brown was born in Guilford County on June 9, 1917 to Gurney Francis and Alice Melinda Vestal Cook. She was previously employed as an inspector in the veneer business and was a member of Westchester Baptist Church. On September 10, 1939 she married Clifton DeWitt Brown who preceded her in death on May 9, 2002.

Surviving are her two sons: James Leslie Cook of High Point and Larry Dean Cook of Germany. There are three grandchildren; Ashley Cook , Larry Dean Cook, Jr. and Sandy Chapel. Also surviving are her sister, Margaret Freedle and husband Bobby of Badin Lake, NC; nieces, Rebecca T. Auman of Denton, Melinda Ridge of Thomasville, and a nephew, Tim Taylor of Denton.

Funeral services will be conducted Saturday at 3:00 p.m. in Sechrest Funeral Chapel on E. Lexington Avenue by the Reverend Eric Peacock. Interment will follow in Floral Garden Park Cemetery. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Saturday from 2:00 pm until 3:00 pm prior to the service.
