Gladys Holder Beasley

Gladys was born on October 13, 1918, to Charles L. Holder and Flora Hines Holder. She graduated from Allen Jay High School in 1935, where she was a star basketball player.

She married Royster C. Beasley on December 22, 1945. Gladys worked for Pilot Life Insurance Company for several years and retired form Acme Sample Books after working 18 years. She loved gardening, flower arranging and needlework.

Gladys is survived by daughters Bonnie Beasley of High Point and Jane Beasley Barfield (Richard) of Richmond, VA; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband and six brothers and four sisters.

A funeral is scheduled for 11:00 am Friday, May 8, 2015, at Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church Chapel. The Rev. Jared Stine and Rev. Richard Howle will officiate the ceremony. Interment will follow at Oakwood Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Sechrest Funeral Service of High Point on Thursday May 7, 2015, between 6:00-8:00 pm.
