She was born December 2, 1926 to William S. Michael Sr. and Elizabeth Small Michael.
She leaves behind her loving daughters Patricia “Pat” Hughes and Susan H. Anderson both of High Point, a granddaughter Christy D. Dawson of Burlington who was the love of her life. The eldest of six children she also leaves behind one sister Helen Rominger of Thomasville.
Preceding her in death, her husband Loy C. Hughes and beloved son Michael “Wayne” Hughes.
She worked for Indian Head Hosiery Mill for 31 years , Design Concepts, Master Samples and retired from Sample Group.
Funeral Services will be held Sunday, June 26, 2011 at Fairmont Park Baptist Church at 2:00pm. Rev. Ron Fowler and Rev. Doctor Steven Jones will officate her service.
Visitation will be held Saturday, June 25, 2011 at Sechrest Funeral Services on Lexington Ave in High Point from 7-9pm
A graveside service will be held Monday, June 27, 2011 at Floral Gardens Memorial Park at 12:00 pm.
