Ernestine Rice Amos

Ernestine Rice Amos 79 died on Monday, April 21, 2014 at Westchester Manor Nursing Center in High Point. Mrs. Amos was born on December 2, 1934 in High Point, North Carolina to Ernest G. and Eleanor J. Rice. She was a graduate of High Point Senior High School and Ashemore Business College. A homemaker and community volunteer, Mrs. Amos had a passion for life and living. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends, cooking, entertaining, gardening, and traveling. Mrs. Amos was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Lee Amos, Jr., in 1981 and by her sister, Beulah Rice Raulston Vaughan, in 2012.

She is survived by her brother, Theodore Rice and wife Barbara of High Point. Also surviving are her nephews Keith Raulston, wife Reca, son Ian and his wife Holly, and daughter Phoebe, of Thomasville; Bobby Rice, wife Helen, and sons Jake, Brad, Clif, and Stan of High Point; and Kerry Rice, wife Cindy,and daughter Katie of High Point.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00am on Friday, April 25, 2014 at the mausoleum at Guilford Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Hospice of the Piedmont, 1801 Westchester Drive, High Point, NC. 27262.
