Elsie Jane Johnson Woodring

Elsie was a devoted wife, loving mother and an active church member. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, canning, cross-stitching, sewing and family gatherings.

Elsie is preceded in death by her parents, Lawrence Roosevelt Johnson and Ila Kay Sink Johnson; husband of 60 years, Thomas J. “T.J.” Woodring; grandson, Jeremy; sister, Mary and her husband Willard; brothers, Carlis and wife Joan, Kenny and Ronnie; brother-in-law, Wilbur; and son-in-law, Dennis.

Elsie is survived by her children, Karen and husband David, Rick and wife Darlene, and Joni; 4 grandchildren; 6 step grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; sisters, Jean and husband Wayne, and Juanita; sister-in-laws, Nellie and Kathy.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Elsie’s name to Spring Hill United Methodist, 240 Spring Hill Church Road, High Point, NC 27262.

Visitation for Elsie will take place on Friday, June 25, 2021 from 11:00am to 12:00pm at Spring Hill United Methodist. The funeral service will follow visitation at 12:00pm at Spring Hill United Methodist; Pastor Ben Free officiating. Burial will follow the funeral service at the Spring Hill United Methodist cemetery.
