Ella Mae Jones

Ella Mae “Macie” Walden Jones, 85, passed away Thursday, November 17, 2016 at her residence with her family by her side. Macie was born in High Point, July 22, 1931, a daughter of the late Richard and Georgia Irwin Walden. She worked for Tomlinson Furniture for many years and then worked at Frolich Company, retiring twice. Macie enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and she loved to read. She was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Robert F. Jones, a daughter, Vickie Flynn, two sisters, Leola Phillips and Lorraine Mitchum and three brothers, Bill, Ray and David Walden. Surviving are three daughters, Deborah Slack, Belinda “Belle” Martinez and Penny Gines and husband Mike; a son, Ronnie Jones; three sisters, Jeanette Berry and husband Bob, Peggy DeMeo and Velna “Peck” Hill; eleven grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. A Celebration of Macie’s life will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. in the Davis Funerals and Cremations Chapel by Pastor Steve McSwain. Burial will follow in Floral Garden Park Cemetery.
