Dora S. Holt, 90, of High Point passed away Friday, May 6 at Hospice Home. She is pre-deceased by parents, Everett and Lula Shelton; husband, Frank Holt; son, Samuel Holt; four brothers, Robert, Walter, Everett, and Luther Shelton; two sisters, Edna Vaughn and Eunice Flynn.
Dora is survived by her daughters, Kay Haynes of Winston Salem and Diane Neal (Gary) of Annapolis, MD; son, Joel Holt of Butner, NC. Grandchildren - David Haynes (Dana) of Jamestown, Debbie Brice of Thomasville, Vivian Fish of Cary and Jennifer Long (Dan) of Riva, MD. Great Grandchildren - Brian and Gracie Haynes, Miranda and Riley Brice; Mitchell and Cameron Long. Sister, Mildred Fincher of Supply, NC and many Nieces and Nephews.
She was an active member of Mitchell's Grove United Methodist Church for over 50 years and held many positions. Dora was a homemaker who loved people, loved to entertain, loved having a cup of coffee with friends. She was a friend to many and nurtured friendships. She was very creative and talented. She loved music and ball room dancing. She was an artist, a seamstress and loved decorating and cooking.
Visitation is Monday, May 9th from 6-8 PM with service at 8 PM at Sechrest Funeral Service, 1301 E. Lexington Ave., High Point NC. Private burial.
