He was born in High Point on August 10, 1916, the son of Carl Wilson Keever and Nannie Alice Duggins Keever.
On August 10, 1935, Clarence married his childhood sweetheart, Leone Stout. They lived in Washington, DC and Lenior before returning to High Point with their three sons in 1956. Upon returning to High Point, he worked at Carson’s Inc. and Patrician Furniture Co., where he was President for over forty-two years.
Clarence was a long-time member of Emerywood Baptist Church where he was a Sunday School teacher, a Life-Deacon (one of only two in the church), a soloist in the choir, and a member of various committees.
Clarence was an Eagle Scout and received many Scouting Awards –the last one at the age of ninety-five.
Mr. Keever was very involved in many civic activities. He was a member of the High Point Chamber of Commerce of which he served as President. He was a member of the Kiwanis Club of which he also served as President and was selected as a Life Member. Clarence also served on the Board of Directors of the Airport Authority. He also was on the Board of Trustees for High Point Regional Hospital.
Clarence was pre-deceased by his wife of seventy-one years Leone Keever, his son Carl Keever, his brother Jack Wilson Keever; and his sister, Doris Burton.
He is survived by his sons Dr. Richard Alan Keever and his wife Janie of High Point and Dr. Kenneth Wilson Keever and his wife Rosemary of High Point; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and his sister Margaret Irene Olive.
A memorial service for Mr. Keever will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, December 31, 2018, at Emerywood Baptist Church. Reverend Timothy Peoples will officiate. The family will receive friends in the gathering area after the service. Inurnment will be in the church columbarium.
