Charles "Buck" G. Guyer Sr.

Charles Grayson “Buck” Guyer Sr. Born Nov 8th 1921 in High Point, NC went to be with the Lord Aug 6th 2013 at 5:09 PM. Buck and his sister Mattie Ruth Guyer Coble were raised in the Methodist Protestant Children’s Home. He graduated from Jamestown High School in 1942 and joined the Marine Corps and served in the Pacific theatre from 1942 to 1945. Buck Graduated from High Point College with a Bachelor of Science degree in 1949. He was married to Mildred L. Workman in 1948 until her death in 1993. Buck taught in the High Point City Schools for 35 years. In 1996, he was married to Lucy L. Patterson, who remained at his side until he passed. Buck is survived by his wife Lucy, his son Dr. Charles G. Guyer II, his daughter in law Dr. Eva Ruth Ward Guyer, his grandsons Charles G. Guyer III and Jarvis Griffith Guyer, a Cousin Tim Teague and a sister in law Ruby W. Parrish. Services are to be held at Sechrest Funeral Home on Lexington Ave. High Point, NC Monday August 12 at 2:00 PM, with visitation one hour prior to the service. Memorials maybe made to the Hospice Home at High Point , 1803 Westchester Drive, High Point , NC 27262 or Emerywood Baptist Church, 1300 Country Club Drive, High Point, NC 27262.
