Bobbie Dameron Hodgin went home to be with her Lord and Savior on October 21, 2016, at High Point Regional UNC Health Care after a brief illness. She was born on December 18, 1927, in Thomasville, NC to the late L. B. and Faye Dameron. Bobbie became a believer at an early age. She exemplified the servant spirit of Jesus Christ in her acts of love and kindness to family, friends, and others.
A graduate of High Point Central High School, Bobbie worked almost 40 years for Adams Millis, first in the factory, then as an administrative assistant. She served in many roles at First Baptist Church, High Point—children’s Bible teacher, Children’s Church worship leader, GA leader, Sunday School Director, deacon, Knitting Ministry, and as president of the Joy/Keystone Class.
Bobbie was preceded in death by her parents, son Henry John Hodgin, III, and her former husband Henry John Hodgin, Jr.
Survivors include son Hank Hodgin and wife Stephanie of Lawrenceville, GA; daughter Sharon Gritz and husband Paul of Fort Worth, TX; grandchildren Erik Hodgin and wife Andi and Stephen Hodgin of Marietta, GA; Lydia Gritz Whitley and husband Taylor of Stuttgart, Germany; great-grandson Harrison Hodgin; nieces Kay Thomas and husband Euel, Barbara Harris, Dawn Pugh and husband Richard; and numerous great nieces and nephews and friends.
A celebration of life will be held Tuesday, October 25, 11:00 a.m. at the First Baptist Church, 405 North Main Street, High Point, NC. A graveside service will follow in Floral Garden Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday night from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Sechrest Funeral Home, 1301 E. Lexington Ave., High Point, NC.
