Mrs. Betty Pegram Byrd, 75, passed away Friday, August 1, 2014 at her residence.
Mrs. Byrd was born in High Point, February 7, 1939, a daughter of Thomas and Mae Slate Pegram. She was a teacher’s aide in the Guilford County School system for many years. Betty was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and a devoted lifetime member of Hilliard Memorial Baptist Church.
Surviving are her husband of 51 years, Gerald Byrd; a daughter, Karen Crisp and her husband Jason; two sons, Kenneth Byrd and Douglas Byrd and his wife Myra; four grandchildren, Paige Byrd, Christy Byrd, Casey Crisp and Kelly Crisp; a sister, Louise Hiatt and her husband Richard; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Graveside service will be held Monday at 1 p.m. in Floral Garden Park Cemetery by the Rev. Jack Rose. The family will receive friends at Davis Funerals and Cremations Monday from 11:30 a.m. until 12:45 p.m. Memorials may be directed to Hospice of the Piedmont.
