Belinda was born in Conway, SC, August 9, 1950, a daughter of the late Elbert and Myrtle Elkes Owens. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. Belinda also enjoyed spending time with her nieces and nephews, gardening, crafts and sewing. Belinda especially enjoyed hosting family dinners and parties. She was a member of Grace Life Church in Greensboro and taught children's church. Belinda was preceded in death by four brothers, Ray Owens, Richard Owens, Brandon Owens and Kermit Owens and two sister in laws, Betty Stracener (Jerry) and Mary Stracener (Bobby).
Surviving are her husband of 54 years, Byron McKinley; two daughters, Shelly Scarboro (Woody) and Tonya McKinley; three brothers, Elbert Owens (Betty), Vann Owens (Sue) and Thorban Owens (Kathy); three grandchildren, Coy Scarboro, Conner Scarboro and Alex Raymundo; four sister in laws, Rebecca Owens, June Owens, Cheryl Owens and Esther Owens; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Belinda's life will be held Thursday at 2:30 p.m. in the Sechrest-Davis Funeral Chapel by Pastor Brian Clark. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday from 1:30 until 2:30 p.m. Burial will follow at Lebanon United Methodist Church Cemetery.
