Mrs. Grace Haynes Rankin, age 91, a former resident of Groometown Road, died Thursday, April 3rd, at Pine Ridge Health and Rehabilitation Center in Thomasville, where she had been a resident for the past two years.
Mrs. Rankin was born July 25th, 1922 in Davidson County a daughter of the late Herman O. and May Kennedy Haynes. She had been a resident of this area for most of her life and was a member of Spring Hill United Methodist Church in High Point. Prior to her retirement in 1992, she worked many years in financial services at Kiser-Roth Hosiery, later to become Mock-Judson Hosiery and then Rolaine Factory Outlet. On July 2nd, 1962 she married Fred N. Rankin who died June 24th, 1973. In addition to her husband and parents, she was also preceded in death by two sisters, Alice Swaim and Ruth Byerly and three brothers, Colin, Clark and George Haynes.
Survivors include a brother, Thurman Haynes of Jamestown and several nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held at 2 pm Monday at Spring Hill United Methodist Church Cemetery with the Reverend Donna Friddle officiating. The family will receive friends, in the fellowship hall of the church, following the service.
