Steven Heidenfelder, a beloved member of the Hicksville community and a dedicated 50-year member of the Hicksville Fire Department, passed away on November 2, 2024, at the age of 68. Born on May 22, 1956, Steven’s life was marked by an unwavering commitment to service, camaraderie, and family.
Steven’s devotion to the Hicksville Fire Department was unparalleled; he served with honor and distinction for five decades, earning the title of Honorary Chief. Known for his steadfast dedication and compassionate spirit, he touched the lives of many, always ready to lend a helping hand and put others before himself.
He is survived by his brother, Alan; his sister-in-law, Laura; his niece, Michelle; his nephew, Robert; and his beloved great-niece and great-nephews: Madalyn, Preston, and Bobby. Steven’s presence will be dearly missed, and his legacy of selfless service will live on in the hearts of his family, friends, and fellow firefighters.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the American Cancer Society for Pancreatic Cancer.
