Ronald J. Rula

Ron was born on August 7th, 1953 in Copiague, NY. He grew up in Plainview and attended Plainview High School. He married his wife Donna in 1986, beginning 37 years of marriage. He made his living as a union roofer, handyman, and general contractor. Throughout his career, he was known for his dedication, timeliness, and incredibly hard work.

But more than anything, Ronald was a devoted father. He loved spending time with his children, and he was adored by his grandchildren, who knew him as Papa. He leaves behind an uncountable wealth of memories: family dinners, sports, golfing, vacations, gardening, bird feeding, camping.

In his free time, Ron enjoyed golfing, and could frequently be found at the Northport VA Golf Course. He was meticulous about the care of his lawn, and was an avid fan of sports - especially NASCAR and his Yankees. He was an active member of the community, donating his time and efforts to his local church, neighbors, and friends.

Ronald is survived by his wife, Donna, his children, Andrew, Jennie Rose, Christopher, and James, his grandchildren, Isabella and Julian, and his sisters Lorraine and Joanne. His memory will remain a blessing to us, and will be held close to our hearts.

Wakes will be held to remember and celebrate his life on Wednesday, February 26th from 2pm to 4pm & 6pm to 8pm at Vernon Wagner Funeral Home in Hicksville. A funeral mass will follow at Our Lady of Mercy Church in Hicksville on Thursday February 27th at 11:15am.
