She was the matriarch of the family, a sister, a mother, an aunt, a grandmother, a great grandmother.
She had three children, 9 grandchildren, and 7 great grandchildren. During her lifetime, she lost her parents, husband, two of her daughters, 1 son in law, 1 grandchild, her sister, and 1 great grandchild. They have greeted her with joyful open arms, and requests for her long awaited delicious meals as she entered heavens gates. She is survived by her sister and brother in law, Dorothy & Steve Wolson, Son & Daughter in law, Ellen & Michael Hoops, and her grandchildren, niece and their families: Faith, Brandon, Samantha, Dominick, Steven, Riza, Chrissy, Emma, Abby, Jaclyn, Jillian, Mike, Annabelle, Brittany, Jason, Mary, Rob, Leo, Ellie, Barbara, Felix, Alessandro, Joaquin.
Her spunk, candidness, and love kept her families hearts full, and her cooking kept their bellies full. She still lived in the home she bought with her husband after they moved from Brooklyn, that her son and daughter in law built up above her, providing a life for the Hoops kids that were filled with days and time with their grandmother. Her love for her family outweighed all, even taking in her granddaughter, Mary, when her parents both passed away and raised her through her teen years.
She was an amazing cook, a great storyteller, neat freak, and was very into home goods and design. She loved the Food Network, Jeopardy, Wheel of Fortune, & the news.
She will forever live on through her loving family, hilarious home videos her granddaughters filmed of her, and through the recipes she fed them while proclaiming, “Ya too thin!”. Marie Hoops was one of a kind and will be loved and remembered eternally.
