It’s all about economics
Always strive for more never settle for less
What he always believed to be true was stubbornly held -his principles were his philosophy
He could make almost anything with a nail and a 2x4
I did it my way-Sinatra
Its not whether you get knocked down its whether you get up
Process of elimination- never read instructions-
He had his own language his family called Pishotease, his own form of dialect,
Example “ are ya gonna sleepa ALLLL Daaay ? “ He refered to his youngest grandchild Victoria as Wicki Wackie, and was the only one allowed to call her Vickie.
He was a humble man but not fearful, even in silly situations-on vacation in Hawaii ( he loved the beach) he set the lounge chair up close to the water- after a while the tide started to come close in and he quickly stood up putting the palm of his hand down towards the water repeating , WHOA, WHOA WHOA-
He is happier now finally where he has wanted to be for so long, quote from Lord Byron about aging
. What is the worst of woes that wait on age?
What stamps the wrinkle deeper on the brow?
To view each loved one blotted from life's page,
And be alone on earth, as I am now.
He worked all his life, and when he retired at 70 he would always say- if you go to work everyday your lucky !
Always was busy, either resorting his treasures in the garage of hardware and such into glass jars and making shelves while music played on the radio loud enough for the neighborhood to hear- all the while with the garage door open, and if he thought someone else was idle would say to iron cloths
As a child of the depression era he saved or salvaged everything
He could cook when he needed to, although Mama always was around for this,. He could eat an onion like an apple and make the best scrambled eggs and sautéed onions which he taught to his daughter Lorrie when she was 10 years old and later to many of his grandchildren !
o He loved music, dancing all his life with his life love Gloria. Would tell his granddaughter Joyia- you got move to the music. At the end of his life when his knees could no longer support his passion for dancing, he would dance with his hands to music in his wheelchair at "the clinic" (he referred to his daycare center) The music didn't matter from the peo body to some rap those were his favorite days and events.
He liked to bowl, and was on many leagues during his lifetime. His last day at "the clinic" he went wheelchair bowling". This was on Friday, just two days before entering into the hospital, and leaving this earth days later-
