In loving memory of John J. Scafura, who passed away on December 29, 2024, at the age of 92. John was a proud United States Army Veteran of the Korean War and a devoted family man. He was a beloved husband to Mary Jean Scafura, who left us in 2018, and a devoted father to his three sons and their spouses: Nicholas and Dina Scafura, Michael and Trudy Scafura, and John and Mary Scafura Jr. He was a proud grandfather to Jenna and Jon O'Leary, John Scafura and his fiancée Andreea Dinu, Danielle and Alicia Ricciardi, Nicholas and Marissa Scafura, Nicole Scafura, Lia Scafura and her fiancée Casey McCoy, and Michael Scafura. He also cherished his role as a great-grandfather to Shane, Aiden, Lacey, Dylan and was looking forward to an additional great grandchild at the end of January.
Please join the family in celebrating his remarkable life on Friday, January 3, 2025, from 2 PM to 4 PM and 6 PM to 8 PM. A Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, January 4, 2025, at 9:45 AM at Holy Family Church in Hicksville, NY, with Interment to follow at St. Charles Cemetery in Farmingdale, NY.
