Chris,

       It took me a while to be able to write something about you I still can't believe I will not see or speak to you anymore. You were like a son to me that never took my advice just like a son would do you had a very big heart and a lot of love to give. There were times I was angry at you for not taking my advice(My Control Issues) I guess God needed you to do his work up above your work here on earth was done. That is the only sense I can make from this I will miss you Rest Peacefully I Love you.

His passing is weighing heavy on my heart. As I sit and write this the tears profusely run down my cheeks. Im still in disbelief my cousin is no longer here with us and instead of me talking to him or seeing him I'm sitting here writing this.  My cousin, my baby, protective like a brother, we always had each others backs. My best friend, my childhood memories. Chris was loyal to the ones he loved and cared about. And if you ever needed Chris, he was there without hesitation. Everyone loved Chris! I'm going to miss his contagious laugh and hugs. I will forever reminisce about the good times (and will always wish for more) we had growing up at nanas,  the holidays, weekends and summers spent at my house or camping. I will cherish every ounce of those memories.  Walks with Stella or Prince to Pelham bay park, binge eating  Italian iceys, pizza (Chris loved pizza) and candy watching the Yankees or a good movie. Getting our walkie talkies ready and waiting for our parents to go to sleep just so we can tickle their feet lol. Oh the good times I had with him growing up. He made my childhood so memorable and joyful. It seems any chance we had we were always together, I always wanted to be around him and still till the end we always tried to use any opportunity we had to see each other, maintaining our "Family Over Everything" relationship.  He said we were a trio and indeed we were. The 3 musketeers. Me, Lori and Chris cuzos till the end. I'm going to miss him dearly. Please keep his sister, his mother, my family in your prayers. I love you Christopher Gonzalez.  Cuzos forever.

I learned, a few hours ago, of Chris’ passing. It struck me with sadness and confusion and with the realization that I was so very lucky to have known him. His time on Earth was too short. There are things, for me, that surpass understanding and can be only reckoned by acceptance. Just as I accepted the gift of Chris’ friendship, must I now accept that I won’t see him again. 

Chris was a young man I cared about very much. He was spirituality, soulfulness and light, enshrined in humanness. As his friend, I was gifted with his trust. His capacity for caring was remarkable. Chris had natural integrity and a strong desire to reach his potential as a citizen of this planet. Perhaps, that much goodness can’t be contained in human form for too long, and so he had to move on to a place where he could be his truest and best self. 

Chris deserved more time to discover and enjoy this world. Men with his level of fortitude are rare. Even when things might have seemed beyond hope, to some people, he seemed to embrace the higher truth that the best was yet to be.

My condolences especially to Chris’ family and all those who held him dearest and longest. I imagine he inspired a great deal of love and joy from the time he was a boy. He had that kind of character.

To the times we shared growing up. The laughs and the sports we took part in. Hockey and baseball mostly. Thank you for your friendship while growing up in east meadow. From my whole family, we pray that you Rest In Peace.

Christopher was always  there when you really needed someone. His sister Lori my best of friends, I and another Friend of Lori's and I had our prom that day. Our friend had a dress and tickets but no date to prom. Without hesitation or a thought of who to call, I picked up the phone and called Christopher and without a pause while dating someone else, knowing he may face a possibility that it may anger his girlfriend at the moment he agreed to accompany her to prom. We had a tuxedo in my brothers closet Christopher came right over so my mother could alter it. He stood by my friend as her date the entire night. That was Christopher Marc Gonzalez always there to drop his plans when he was truly needed regardless of consequence if he could help, make someone laugh until they cry, or save the day for one person he would. Christopher's soul was comfort, laughter, love and loyalty. I remember he told his mother he would never move out, he loved her so much he would follow her wherever she went, I truly believe from now on he will never leave her side, he adored her, was proud of her and loved her more than any child could love a mother.  Christopher was so proud of what his sister had became an amazing mom, wife, sister, and lawyer he didn't hesitate to boast about her becoming a lawyer and how much he loved his niece. He tried to be the man of the house when Junior left the nest to build a life for himself, tried to walk in juniors shoes. Protecting his mother as much as he could. I send Condolences to this amazing family, as his soul his with God in heaven his spirit is with Mom, Lori  Ann, Junior, Kiera and in heaven with his Father and many friends.
