Charles E. Green, a beloved resident of Hicksville, NY, passed away peacefully on October 22, 2024, at the age of 79. Born on July 23, 1945, Charles was a dedicated family man and a valued member of his community.
Predeceased by his beloved wife Laura Lee, Charles is survived by his loving daughters, Lorraine (Gerard) Schnebel and Linda Green, who remember him as a guiding light in their lives. Charles was a cherished grandfather to five grandchildren and a caring great-grandfather to two great-grandchildren. His family was his pride and joy, and he took great delight in their accomplishments and adventures. Charles was a devoted sweetheart to Nancy Haley, with whom he shared many happy memories with throughout their years together.
Professionally, Charles served as a police officer with the Nassau County Police Department, dedicating his life to protecting and serving his community. He was also proud to have served in the Navy, where he developed a strong sense of duty and discipline that guided him throughout his life. As a resident in Hicksville Charles became a member of the fraternal organization, Knights of Columbus.
A passionate sports enthusiast, Charles was a fan of the New York Mets and the Buffalo Bills. His love for sports was matched only by his interest in politics, particularly during presidential races, which he followed with great enthusiasm.
Charles cherished the great outdoors, often escaping to his cabin, where he enjoyed the great outdoors and spending quality time with loved ones. These moments in nature brought him immense joy and tranquility.
A memorial service to honor Charles will be held on Saturday, November 2, 2024, from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM at Vernon C. Wagner Funeral Homes, located at 125 W Old Country Road, Hicksville, NY 11801. A prayer service will take place at 4:00 PM. Family and friends are invited to gather in remembrance and celebration of his remarkable life.
Charles E. Green will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. His legacy of love, service, and dedication will forever live on in the hearts of his family and friends.
